Treasures Along the Way

Bogged down with all the mundanity
Wishing to escape somehow magically

Habit and necessity of jobs and chores
Cleaning, fixing and going to stores

Working hard so bills can be paid
Wishing we all had a competent aide

The never ending repetition of daily life
Trying to avoid voices of conflict and strife

Out of the blue a little reminder appears
Turn on the music! It will bring cheer!

Music transcends the ordinariness and normality
Squashes out the boredom and banality

Expand your exposure, try a different song
Or instead put on a favorite to sing along

Try a symphony you have never heard
Or a concerto where in your soul is stirred

Maybe put everything else aside and soak it in
REALLY listen until goosebumps are on your skin

Pull out that album with lyrics and art
Sing along with your most loved part

Watch your troubles, like a cloud, float away
Just like they do on a beautiful summer day!
