Archimedes had an incredible mind
It is reported to be a fact
He realized the buoyancy principle while taking a bath
How can someone from 287-212 B.C. have influenced us today?
The Archimedes principle explains why we can float on a huge cruise ship,
tiny kayak, sleek sailboat or whatever boat we choose
This fascinates me so much!
However, I’m thinking about this as an analogy for our lives
Too much cargo or weight and the boat will sink
Just the right amount and away we go
What if we, like the streaming boat on the water, float along nicely
When we monitor and adjust the load we carry?
We can cruise through the rough waves without tipping over
Or if carrying to much weight, we begin to sink
Adjust the ballast, get rid of excess baggage
Prevents us from going down or beginning to drown
Isn’t it wonderful how we can be the captain of our own ship?
Isn’t it liberating we can monitor our response to the winds and waves!
Displacement, balance, watching our center of gravity
All vital for our smooth and safe stability and flotation!
All around us the laws of physics teach us and help us feel
There is indeed a plan for our success and happiness!
This is only one aspect of many amazing laws and principles
That can represent our need for taking care of the important relationships in our lives
Monitoring our own levels of buoyancy and flotation
Amidst the calm prepares us for the storms of our lives
So we need not sink, scream for rescue or even drown!
We have a warning system already built into our being
If we pay attention and make the necessary changes,
It leads to well-being, peace and a beautiful horizon
Sailing, cruising, navigating on the beautiful waves
Or being prepared for the inevitable, tumultuous tidal wave or hurricane
It is our choice, always before us, every single day
Either way-we can turn to the Captain of our soul
He can lead us back to safe and peaceful waters
He can give us calm amidst the tsunami and devastation
He can inspire us where and how to turn
And even reach down and save us when we are drowning
If we desire that life-giving aid
I see it now- a beautiful boat on the calm, blue, mirror like water
It takes work to get there, lots of patience and perseverance
Discipline to check the mast, rigging and cargo
Making it all glide smoothly
The scene is worth it -so beautiful to behold
