I never bought a lottery ticket
But yet I won the lottery in my life
The biggest win I could have
“One enchanted evening” across a crowded dance room
There he was, smiling at me
For….many….magical moments, smiling at me
He saw me amongst all the others
I wore a black jumpsuit
Which he had “prophesied” his wife would wear, before ever meeting me
He came to the punch bowl where I stood
We greeted as if we were long lost friends
Knowing each other’s spirits immediately
Thus it began, this incredible journey with Joel
Every day making me laugh, seeing things as if we were one
Years of every possible joy and many harrowing trials
Praying, crying, worshiping, singing, parenting and playing together
Building our lives from tiny beginnings to almost 40 years of faithful minutes, hours and days
He kept all his promises to me and God, without hesitation
Solid as the most majestic mountain, strong as a warrior
Honest in every word and deed
Character unassailable, integrity deep as the ocean
Beautiful in his humility and trust in God
Funny in the most wonderful way
Faithful in his every day and night
Oh, how I love him
He is my forever love
My sweetheart, my Joel
