Did you see the change as it silently crept upon the earth?
The cycle, the process, the Creator’s gift to all, and to the earth
Underneath this repeated scene, our muscles, fibers
and bones hold a sweet memory of it
Then there it is! The orange, yellow and red leaves appear
The earth is beautiful in every change and season
Do you remember when you felt the crisper air as a child?
Your mother bought a sweater for you and you didn’t understand
The depth of that significant act for you!
Did she also feel a bit melancholy as the leaves changed to gold?
We ran, played and didn’t even think about this autumn scene
Though it was imprinted in our cells
As the years go faster and faster, now we remember
And we feel the impact of the changing hues
Even in places where it is quite minimal
We can sense the glory of the earth’s changing colors
We feel it in the spring, winter, summer or fall
We relish the variety of our Mother Earth
Memories beneath these subtle vibrations
May or may not surface in the present moment
But they are there, explaining our desire for cinnamon,
Pumpkin and cloves filling the air
I choose to pick the sweet memories of my childhood
Embracing the seasons as an innocent child
How wonderful, how fun, to swing in the air!
How precious to play with the puppy and kitten
How enlivening to jump in the fall leaves and let them seep
Into my body and soul, leaving their depth and warmth
The adults may worry about the happenings of the world
but, we as little children only sense the wind in the trees
The magical colors of the magnificent earth
The beating of our hearts in joy as we climb the gigantic tree
Ah, to be a child again and live under protection of the caring ones!
Ignorant of the problems and dangers they bear
It is vital, crucial, incredibly important for these little ones
Innocence, nature, love, exploring, discovering
Imagination running free! Colors everywhere!
There it is! Capture the paradise again!
See through the eyes of a child!
Go deep into that chamber of sweet, magical places
Let your heart heal, let your soul take over and fly!
