Ode to the Concussion

Pain, pain, go away!
Never come another day.
Leave your lessons at the door,
Surely I have made the score?

Vertigo, vertigo, please be done,
Don’t you know, you help no one?
You create a turbulent shore,
There is nothing I hate more.

Noise, noise, why so loud?
Even when there’s not a crowd?
Please be soft, please be still,
You are breaking my good will!

Tinnitus, tinnitus, brings me to my knees;
I am not a cicada in the leaves!
A curse you are, in all you bring,
Buzzing, buzzing, constant ring.

Music, music, come and stay.
You are welcome every day.
Flow and flow all over me,
Till hope’s light is all I see.

Laughter, laughter, fly right here!
It’s so warm to feel you near!
Can I catch you on the wind?
Can I even call you friend?

Love, love, deep inside,
Ever constant as the tide,
Finest treasure of them all,
Without you, I would fall!
