A June morning reveals many treasures
I almost couldn’t believe what I saw
The first ray settled on the leaves as a silver icing
Glistening, shimmering, to my utter delight
A symphony of songs to welcome the beautiful day
Those birds need no prelude or introduction
for their improvisation in their melody
spreading across my little world here
The heat will come and change this scene
But I will carry this wonderful peace
Inside my heart and try to capture
It again through the hours ahead
I know the birds and trees sing praises
They know what many forget
Nature is not fooled by the sophistry of the world
I can listen and drink it in
The light of that first ray dancing on the trees
Is where I want to stay
The cadence of the many birds
Is the harmony I so need
Hang on, hope on, till that perfect day
when first Ray never, ever leaves
and I am filled with Light
and perfect, eternal Love
