We traveled trillions of miles to come here
Maybe we experienced a bit of fear
We journey through the womb to a bright place
The familiar voice reveals a beautiful face
Innocent, helpless, needing protection
Feeling love, abundant affection
Learning, tasting, ever growing
Mountains, valleys, rivers flowing
Climbing steep, dangerous roads
Jagged cliffs, heavy loads
Traveling to awe-inspiring places
Seeing many interesting faces
Passing through hometown streets
People, scenes, memories sweet
Strange, very strange to be a misplaced traveler
Unaware, unnoticed time-traveling passenger
We can’t even feel the turning of the earth
Night, day, death and birth
Yet it is constantly happening
And we are traveling, traveling
To that crucial day of our own
Where we reap all we have sown
Coming closer with every glorious sunrise
Every stunning sunset, filling our spiritual eyes
We are part of a spectacular caravan
Made of every woman, child and man
There is a grand purpose for us here
We truly have no need to fear
We see the eagle in its magnificent flight
Our soul soaring beyond its height
We’re all traveling to that next place
All our loved ones soon to embrace
Yet in the present, beauty abounds
Surprising us with treasures found
Music, flowers, breath-taking vistas
Poetry, art, friends who missed us
Come, take my hand
Travelers in this foreign land
