Treasures Along the Way

Another birthday came and went
This one was a big one
As Paul Simon sang,
"How very strange to be 70"

It is indeed very strange 
to realize
One's time is more on the "down slide"
Than in the "much more to go" side

I begin to know more and more
I am an eternal,
immortal being
For my soul and mind know

Time and counting years
Is a sham
Even a farce
Clocks and years are fleeting

Beauty and love are reality
We do not fade or disappear
Eternal, magnificent
Child of God
