Do you wonder if something you said a long time ago had an impact?
Maybe one of your students doubted whether they had talent and at just the right moment you noticed their effort and gift and sincere, encouraging words flowed from you to them. Maybe it was a child, young person, or anyone in your life.
At the time you didn’t think anything of it. But later you remember when the roles were reversed and you were the child lost in your wondering thoughts.
Then it comes, immense gratitude for the kind adult or person in your tiny world. They loomed larger than life to you. Their smile and their generous spirit never dimmed.
Oh, the power of kindness, thoughtfulness and loving encouragement!
Such beautiful gifts don’t cost a cent. How blessed we are when showers of praise are given.
Maybe we didn’t even realize we would remember those precious words or loving smiles 50, 60, or 70 years later.
Is anything more lovely than a person who regularly and freely extends grace, encouragement and a loving presence into our lives?
May I always show the same kindness in my life, as so many praiseworthy souls have shown to me!
I lift my heart and soul in gratitude as I honor those precious ones who blessed my life so profoundly.
Several such souls have passed on and I feel the vacuum in this world for losing them here.
But, I know they are reaping joy for the work they have sown.
They are wrapped in glory and somehow their light still shines in all of us who were so fortunate to feel the glow of their love.
Rest in peace.
Rest in His love.
